This annual award is given to “the goaltender having played a minimum of 25 games with the NHL’s best save percentage during the regular season.” The save percentage is calculated by dividing the total saves by the total shots on net. The winner receives $25,000 which is to be donated to the youth hockey or educational program of his choice. The award was first presented to the league in 1999-2000 by the MBNA Corporation, which Roger joined in 1983. Crozier was one of the leading goaltenders during his career and passed away on January 11, 1996.
